Jacob and Michael – The escape – part one

“Your closet is great and all.  Who knows what you did in there… you spent a lot of time in there growing up but I ain’t getting eaten hiding in a closet,” Michael spat.

Jacob smiled, “dude, if you only knew.”

“I do not want to know what you did in the closet, by yourself when you were alone. Change of subject.”

The two zombies, that had tumbled over the bedding blockade, began to stir. They stood upon the mattress. Attempted to move and fell. Three more stepped forward into the bedroom and approached the blockade. The lead zombie paused causing the second to stop suddenly and step to the left. The third slowed then stood and seemed to be listening.

“IQ test,” Michael said while watching the trio attempt to navigate the obstacle.

“Idiot zombies,” Jacob added. The closest zombie snapped at Jacob. Lunging from its prone position.

“F-U Teeth mother–”

“Let’s hide in the closet,” Michael interrupted.

Both men skirted past the fallen zombies and the mess on the floor. Jacob opened the faux walnut closet door. Inside, an arms length of women’s clothing.

“It’s her clothes,” Jacob said. The color in his face disappeared.

“We have to move them,” Michael began to pull handfuls of the clothing from the closet and toss them behind him while Jacob watched.

“No! Not the dresses! You’ll get them all dirty. They will!” Jacob screamed and attempted to stop Michael.

“Jacob stop!” Michael replied. Zombies crawled over the mattress and approached the two men. They were a foot from Jacob when Michael grabbed his brother and threw him into the closet. Jacob inhaled Sharon’s scent as the material overwhelmed him. He fought back and more of the clothing tumbled in all directions. Michael joined his brother inside the cramped, dark room. He attempted to close the closet door but realized that the door was blocked by all the clothing. Michael listened as the closet door behind them rattled. The prone zombies used the closet door to help them stand. Michael tried to close the door a second time with the same results.

“Jacob, can you pause your psychotic break and clear the floor so WE DON’T DIE!” Michael screamed. The zombie’s outside the closet clawed at the closed door and began toward the open door. Jacob recovered and shoved the clothing on out of the way. The door, free of debris, was jerked from Jacob’s hands. The zombie stepped forward and screamed. A guttural noise full of anger. Jacob felt hopeless as the creature lunged forward. It’s hands raised, became trapped within the metal hangers that remained on the curtain rod. The zombie attempted to rip its hands from the trap but became more tangled. Jacob shoved the clothing he stood behind into the zombie. He pushed the creature off its feet and it tumbled backward. Jacob grabbed the closet door and closed it.

Journal Entry (Plot the whole story)

120 people stand in line to enter the Company. They file in at 8:00 on Monday morning. Single out the four but include a few more.  They walk into the Company and perform their duties as they normally would on Monday morning.  The nurses care for the patients, the doctors work in their offices and the maint. crews sweep the floors.

Today is going to be different though…work in this town is going to come to a halt.  From the dark and unknown section of the Company a door will be open, on accident, and the patients will slip out.  The patients being zombies.  The first zombies are supposed to be super soldiers.  Super strong former Marines.  The purpose is kinda like this…if you kill us we will rise up and stomp your ass…  As these super soldiers feed on innocent victims these victims turn into zombies and so on and so on…

Within the next two days the super soldiers tear up the company and create about 100 new zombies, this includes the patients dumb enough to step from their cells.  After this the four along with however many make it out of the company alive find the exit and leave.  They find it is getting dark and they run to the rolling fence at the end of the parking lot.

“What the hell are we going to do?”  Asks someone.

Dr. Stein volunteers his car and they smash through the gate with it.  Before they can drive to safety another paniced driver smashes their car into a power pole.

With no where to run the four begin to run with the zombies following slowly after.  They find the town almost abandoned due to a voluntary evacuation.  They didn’t believe that man-eating zombies could be attacking a town.  They run about a mile ahead of the zombies.  That’s where they find the old farm house.  They find that they are joined by the man that ran them off the road, his car had died and several others.  They plot a defense but cannot find any guns.  They decide to hide…It’s about the only thing they can do.  The majority opinion is to go downstairs but Derrick and couple others decide to go upstairs…for some unknown reason Derrick is the only one the pick the attic…I don’t know if there is a conflict or what but he is the only one up there.  Maybe he is the only one small enough to fit in the door.

Late that night the zombies find the home and beat on it and beat on it.  Early in the morning they break through and begin to invade the house.  They bust through the basement door first and kill everyone in there then begin upstairs.  They go room by room finding everyone that looks delicious and eating them…Derrick is above them in the attic and hears it all.  He hears Nancy being eaten then hears Andrea but she is not screaming…She is looking for him.  I would like her to be a zombie but I would also like her to be a love interest.

Derrick and Andrea escape the house through the window in the attic…Standing outside on the roof they notice men fighting through the mass of zombies.  These men are muscular and very strong.  They swing wood, metal, shoot guns and anything that will make the zombies go down.  They clear a path to the house and rescue Derrick and Andrea… Andrea finds that she knows the leader of the pack because he drives the city bus.  All these men are functional experments with one blind eye.  The expermental drugs forced them to lose the site in the eye.  After being saved they make there way to Kingsboro prison.  With the help of the remaining pack they clear the prison and plot an overall plan of attack for these zombies…

That’s when Derrick see’s the snow and finds hope for the future…or at least an escape up north….

Story Entry

Chased from the grounds of Kingsboro Research and Development the group stands outside the locked gate.

“What just happened here?”  said Nancy as she stared back through the steel mesh.  Several super-strong zombie beasts milled around behind it.  The blue door that the group planned on entering was busted and hanging from the top most hinge.

“I don’t know…just know there’s some bullcrap going on,” said Derrick scratching his head.

“This job was going to save me!!”  Nancy screamed.  “This goddamn sham of a job.”

“I don’t think the job was a sham, Nancy” Dr. Stein said, “I think we were suppose to have a job but experiments got outta had.  Personally I’m glad I don’t work there.”

“You don’t want to participate in human experiments,” Derrick said with mock-shock.

“No, not interested.”

“What are those beasts doing?”  Derrick asked as he watched them.  “Shouldn’t we call the police or something?”

“Andrea’s on the phone with them right now,” Dr. Stein said.

Andrea was leaning against the fence, her right foot pressed against the fence and her left on the ground.  Her red pump sat on its side on the ground.

She was very beautiful, Derrick thought as he watched her.  She seemed very relaxed and not too worried that zombie-things walked only a few feet from her.

Only a few feet from her, he thought then screamed at her.  “Andrea get off the fence.”  Andrea turned her head to the right and screamed.  The zombie stumbled toward her, its face stiffened like it had taken too many Botox shots.  It moved it’s mouth up and down but wasn’t able to open it too much.  She stepped forward leaving her right heel near the fence.  The zombie rushed forward and fell at the fence.  The fence stopped several inches from the ground.  With his hand under the fence he quickly grabbed at anything he could which included fistfuls of dirt, grass and her red pump.

“My pump!  My pump!”  Andrea screamed.  “Those are expensive.”  She grabbed the pump and yanked it from the zombies grip.  She slid her foot back into it and stepped away.  The zombie stopped groping and tried to pull his hand from the fence.  His hand became stuck under the fence and within seconds it began to growl.  A gutteral, inhuman growl that immidiatly brought attention to his plight.

There were at least ten or twelve zombies in the vacinity and they began to stumble toward the fence.

“This can’t be good,” Derrick said.
